چکیده
Hydrogel constructs were rapidly fabricated via the electrophoretic adhesion of oppositely charged microbeads. The reversible preparation of hydrogel constructs was achieved by the reconstruction of microbead networks.

On-chip Protein Assays Using Microbead Arrays: an Integrated System for Salivary-based Clinical Diagnostics
A microfluidic device containing arrays of microwells filled with microbead sensors was used to perform protein assays in a saliva sample. Techniques for the fabrication of fully integrated arrays of microwells within polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) microchannels were demonstrated. Subsequent microwell loading with stochastic arrays of encoded microbeads was performed and the devices were used for ...
متن کاملAdvances in the Fabrication of Antimicrobial Hydrogels for Biomedical Applications
This review describes, in an organized manner, the recent developments in the elaboration of hydrogels that possess antimicrobial activity. The fabrication of antibacterial hydrogels for biomedical applications that permits cell adhesion and proliferation still remains as an interesting challenge, in particular for tissue engineering applications. In this context, a large number of studies has ...
متن کاملRapid prototyping of scaffolds derived from thermoreversible hydrogels and tailored for applications in tissue engineering.
In the year 2000 a new rapid prototyping (RP) technology was developed at the Freiburg Materials Research Center to meet the demands for desktop fabrication of scaffolds useful in tissue engineering. A key feature of this RP technology is the three-dimensional (3D) dispensing of liquids and pastes in liquid media. In contrast to conventional RP systems, mainly focused on melt processing, the 3D...
متن کاملPolymer Microbead-Templated Nanostructures
In this chapter, nanostructures templated by polymer microbead, which is usually made of polystyrene with a diameter range of 300 nm–1 μm, are reviewed. We first focus on formation of the microbead monolayer in terms of the driving force for self-assembly, the junction among the neighbouring microbeads and the uniformity of microbead monolayer. Then, we discuss applications of microbead monolay...
متن کاملFabrication of Hydrogels with Steep Stiffness Gradients for Studying Cell Mechanical Response
Many fundamental cell processes, such as angiogenesis, neurogenesis and cancer metastasis, are thought to be modulated by extracellular matrix stiffness. Thus, the availability of matrix substrates having well-defined stiffness profiles can be of great importance in biophysical studies of cell-substrate interaction. Here, we present a method to fabricate biocompatible hydrogels with a well defi...
